Earth Day at Pure Solutions

Posted by Graham Henningson on Apr 22, 2016 4:08:38 PM

Each year, the Pure Solutions team launches intiatives to protect the environment and lower our impact both at home and at the office. Sustaining the planet for future generations is something we think about every day- including Earth Day! That's why we wanted to share with you tips for both home and at the office that will help you make better choices every day.

Here are three tips to make your office environmentally conscious:

TIP #1: Pack Your Lunch

Bring your own lunch and snacks to work in reusable containers. It will not only save you money, but it also reduces packaging waste. We love salads. Often, everyone will bring different salad ingredients (avocado, tomatoes, chickpeas, etc.) and assemble/toss right here in the office.

TIP #2: Reduce Paper Use

Reduce paper use by emailing documents, and use presentations rather than handouts at meetings. If you have to print, print double sided whenever possible! Our co-founder, Trevor, has gone completely paperless and requested that the team only email him documents for upcoming meetings. He comes to meetings with his tablet and has access to all of the documents we discuss.

TIP #3: Ship Smart

Packing and shipping can create tons of office waste. Try to pack boxes as densely as possible and create an area in your office to store used boxes so you can reuse them for your shipping needs. In the back of our Weston office, we stack boxes that are accessible to anyone on the team for both work and personal shipping needs. Making these available to the team to reuse reduces the daily waste.

Pure Solution's committment to water conservation.
